The Parent/Carer Partnership
At Milton we are committed to the parent/school partnership and wish to work closely with families to ensure that every child achieves its potential. We endeavour to keep parents fully informed of all school activities through regular communications. Letters are sent on Fridays and the school web site contains a wealth of information about the school. The views of parents are sought through questionnaires in years one, four and six.
We welcome parents to take an active interest in the work of the school and to come in and help. There are numerous ways to assist, for example, listening to children read, artwork, cooking, accompanying school trips, etc. We are also pleased when parents share their expertise and enthusiasms with the children on such projects as the environmental studies area. Milton takes its responsibility for child protection seriously and we ask all volunteers to complete a CRB form before working with the children.
We are always grateful for offers to transport pupils to away sports matches, and of course, we appreciate parents' support for MSA fund raising activities, which provide additional equipment for the school. There are many occasions during the year when parents are invited into school for events such as concerts, sports days, class assemblies and open evenings. Concerts are held each term by different classes. Younger K.S.2. classes entertain parents each June with a display of country dancing.
